A Little About Myself

Hi everyone!

My name is Radhika (Ra-dhi-ka). I am a Bay Area native, born and raised in Vallejo and the surrounding communities. Being from the Bay does make me a Golden State Warriors fan (sorry-not sorry to any Kings fans), a dog mom, and a Pisces - water signs for the win!

I'm also a proud daughter of hardworking immigrants and consider myself bicultural, as a Punjabi, Indian-American. My dual upbringing taught the importance of resilience, community and honoring where we come from, while creating our own paths. As a middle child, I like to think I got the best of both worlds–being both an older and younger sister showed me how to be a peacemaker and see things from different perspectives.  I understand the unique experiences that come with balancing multiple identities, navigating family,  cultural, and societal expectations while also trying to stay true to ourselves along the way.

Before becoming a therapist, I spent over 10 years in various roles across healthcare, education, non-profit, and business corporate environments. Across these roles, I developed a deep appreciation for listening to people's stories and helping them navigate complex systems while also holding space for their unique lived experiences. It was something that came so naturally to me that I decided to switch gears and make the long term commitment to becoming a therapist!

Outside of clinical professional work, I am a certified yoga teacher and have been practicing yoga for over 12 years. Yoga has been a meaningful part of my life and has taught me the importance of movement, mindfulness and intentional breathwork. While Yoga is often associated with flexibility or poses, its true meaning in Sanskrit means the union of mind and body. A concept that I believe blends beautifully with therapy.

Don't worry though, I won’t make you roll out a yoga mat and hold a pose in session (unless that's something you’d genuinely enjoy!)

You may, however, hear me talk about the mind-body connection and how it shows up in our lives. Sometimes, our life experiences whether trauma, injury, stress, etc., can show up in our body in ways we may not recognize or that has become normalized over time.

Stress and trauma don't just live in our thoughts, they can show up in our bodies too. Maybe it looks like feeling tired all the time, carrying tension in our jaws or shoulders, clenching our muscles, having a racing heart or feeling disconnected or numb from ourselves and the present moment. To me, yoga and therapy share a common foundation– creating space to slow down, listen to yourself  and build a connection with your body through awareness and compassion.

In my work, I invite clients to gently notice what is happening in their bodies and explore what might help them feel a little more grounded and safe. Sometimes that means talking through difficult experiences from a safer place, noticing where tension or discomfort shows up in the body, practicing mindful breathing, grounding through the senses, moving or stretching, sitting in stillness or using self-affrimations. These can be things like feeling your feet on the ground, using your senses to return to the present moment, unclenching your jaw, dropping your shoulders or simply taking a moment to check in with what you need.

Healing isn't about becoming someone new, it's about accepting and honoring your story and creating a life that feels authentic, meaningful and aligned with who you are and want to be.

My goal is to create a space where you can fully be  yourself. A space where your experiences, identities, and stories are met with curiosity, compassion, and understanding. Whether you're navigating work stress, love, grief, and trauma - or simply seeking a deeper understanding of yourself – we'll work at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

I don't believe therapy is one size fits all.

Every person brings a unique story shaped by their experiences, relationships, cultures and the world around them. Because of this, I tailor my approach to support your needs, goals and ideas. The one thing that stays  consistent between clients is my curiosity to learn about them. I'll often ask questions because I believe curiosity helps us better process our experiences, uncover patterns and create space for your reflection.

I also support the notion that therapy doesn't end when our session is over.

The work we do becomes part of your everyday life in ways that feel practical, intentional and aligned with your lifestyle. While we often focus on life's bigger moments and major milestones, I believe the small everyday moments are just as meaningful in shaping who we are. Together we can explore what feels important to you and find ways to bring more fulfillment in your daily life. My hope is that you leave therapy with a deeper understanding of yourself, and tools you can actually use as you navigate life's challenges and celebrate its joys.
