Is the information shared in session confidential?YES! All information (except for safety concerns) are confidential and will not be shared with any person or organization without your written consent. The situations in which confidentiality needs to be broken legally, include but are not limited to, (a) when a Client makes a serious threat of violence towards a reasonably identifiable victim, (b) when a Client is a danger to him/herself or to the person or property of another, (c) when a Client shares any instance of current or past child abuse, mental suffering, or neglect towards minors or if I reasonably suspect such, or (d) when a Client shares knowledge of an incident that reasonably appears to be physical abuse, abandonment, abduction, isolation, financial abuse or neglect of an elder or dependent adult, or if I am told by an elder or dependent adult that he or she has experienced these or if I reasonably suspect such.

How long does counseling typically last? This depends on the issues you are coming in for and will be discussed in our first session together. Short-term counseling can be anywhere from 10-14 sessions, while long-term counseling can last for 6months to a year. Total time spent in counseling can vary and change as a client’s/couple’s needs change.
-
How often do we have session?I like to begin with meeting couples and individuals once a week. However, I understand that this may not feasible for various reasons and so am flexible in the number of times we meet a month based on your needs and scheduling.
-
How much does it cost? Our sessions are self-pay and cost between $200 - $275 per session. This varies depending on the type of session and your therapist. Book a free discovery call to learn more.
-
Do you accept insurance? We do not accept insurance at this time, however our clinicians are considered "Out of Network" for some PPO plans allowing you to be reimbursed for sessions. Please contact your insurance to check your benefits or contact our admin for assistance.

-
What is the cancellation policy? All sessions must be cancelled at least 48 hours ahead of the appointment time. Ex: your session is at 12:30pm on a Monday, the latest you can cancel is Saturday before 12:30pm. Late cancellations and no-shows will be charged a cancellation fee equivalent to the session fee.

How do couples sessions work?Couple’s sessions I offer are structured differently than many therapists. I will usually meet with the couple together for the intake, separately for further assessment, and then together again thereafter. The reason for this is that I believe a couple is made up of two individual beings who have had their own experiences before making mindful and purposeful decisions to be together. So, getting to know each partner as an individual is as important as getting to know their relationship dynamics in creating long-lasting therapeutic change.
-
What if I don't feel comfortable having session with my partner? Do you see couples separately?Yes, as part of couples therapy I give each partner the space to openly share their issues, relational history, and problems in the relationship in their own perspective as part of the assessment phase in the form of at least one individual session. This time is also used to help provide a safe space for one or both partners to bring up sensitive topics with me that they may not be comfortable to share with their partner yet, i.e., infidelity, intimacy issues.
-
Do I have to be in the same location as my partner for a session? No, you do not. As long as one of you are physically present in the state of California at the time of the appointment the other can be anywhere else they feel comfortable meeting.
-
What happens after the session?Depending on the issues at hand and the preference of the client, I may assign some “homework” to be worked on between sessions. This will be discussed at the following session and so on and so forth. Not everyone is assigned homework so don’t worry if that’s not your thing!
-
Do you see children / teenagers?Yes! We have therapists who work with minors ages 12+. Please visit our team page to see which providers work with minors.
