Giving Back, Staying Connected, and Creating Safe Spaces Beyond the Therapy Room
At Safe Space Counseling, our mission extends beyond providing high-quality therapy services—we are deeply committed to showing up for our community in meaningful ways. From attending local health fairs to developing new programs for underserved groups, we believe that true healing and impact happen when we engage with the people and communities around us.
Rooted in Service
Whether it’s offering support to seniors, collaborating with local leaders, or developing programs for those on the front lines, our team is passionate about creating access, building trust, and sharing resources that promote mental wellness for all.

RECENT EVENTS

Mental Health for Desi Community
Dr. Kaur was invited by UC Davis Medical Center to be a member of their expert panel for discussing the various barriers to seeking out mental health support in the South Asian (also known as Desi) community. There she and other panelists discussed barriers such as fear of consequences, lack of awareness on privacy and HIPAA laws connection to mental health, and cultural barriers that prevent community members from reaching out when they are suffering.

Elk Grove Senior Health Fair
Last week, the Safe Space Counseling team had the privilege of participating in the Senior Health Fair in Elk Grove, where we connected with community members, shared resources, and had thoughtful conversations about the importance of mental health as we age.

What’s Ahead for Safe Space Counseling
As we continue to grow, we’re excited to expand our presence at local events and initiatives across California. This summer and beyond, you’ll find us participating in more health fairs, wellness workshops, and community outreach efforts. Our mission is to keep showing up for our communities—offering support, resources, and human connection wherever it’s needed.

We’re also looking forward to launching our First Responder Therapy Program, which will provide dedicated, trauma-informed support to those who serve on the front lines. Stay tuned—there’s more to come!
