Position Overview
Clinical therapist will provide outclient individual and couples therapy to clients of Safe Space Counseling. Clinical therapy services include treatment of adolescents, adults, couples, and families. We are currently looking for couples’ therapists or counselors who are comfortable learning about and talking about sex therapy with clients, who are anti-racist, LGBTQ+ affirmative, social justice minded, and ready to be a part of a dynamic, fun, and collaborative team. Duties / Responsibilities:

Perform telehealth clinical counseling services to clients of Safe Space Counseling as scheduled, and in accordance with company policies.

This is a remote position which requires a HIPAA appropriate workspace.

Regular and reliable attendance and timely arrival to each session is required.

Already have, or applied for, unrestricted license number by California BBS and abide by all laws, rules, regulations, and codes of ethics that are binding upon or applicable to the services performed for Safe Space Counseling.

Respond to clients’ requests for service or calls within 24 hours by phone, email, etc.

Communicate with a client’s treatment team (i.e., PCP, psychiatrist, school, etc.) as necessary.

Timely complete written records for each client including, but not limited to: intake notes, progress notes, termination notes, and other forms or documents which may be needed or required from time-to-time by Safe Space Counseling or third parties in conjunction with the treatment of the client within a timely fashion (by Friday of each week). Keep client files accurate and up to date.

Charge and collect payments from clients for services provided consistent with the policy and rate for such services as established by therapist and supervisor.

Attend mandatory staff meetings, supervision, and/or training as directed by Safe Space Counseling.

Conduct and regulate counseling services in a professional manner to maintain and increase the good will and reputation of Safe Space Counseling. Be respectful of and cooperative and collaborative with co-workers.

Qualifications & Skills:

Align with Safe Space Counseling mission, vision, and values.

Must be punctual in reporting to work.

Master’s Degree or Doctoral Degree in counseling or social work; and
-
Active, unrestricted license (LCSW, LMFT or LPCC) in the State of California. A copy of license must be provided to Safe Space Counseling upon hire.

Available to hold caseload of 15-28 client sessions per week, based on referrals and availability.

Be available to work at least 2 weeknights (until 730/8pm) and 1 weekend day for 1st year of employment.

Have adequate and reliable internet connection.

Abide by all Telehealth guidelines to adequately maintain HIPAA compliance.

Be organized and detail oriented.

Be a team player.

Be able to work independently on tasks assigned.

Have strong written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.

Prior experience in a private practice setting highly preferred.
-
At least one year experience in outclient counseling setting.

Have at least one niche market for counseling services (i.e., children, teens, trauma, anxiety, grief, anger management, etc.) preferred.

Be comfortable in learning about and providing sex therapy services.

Compensation & Benefits:
0-6mos:

40% of clinical earnings per pay period
-
$26/hr for team meetings and mandatory trainings
6mos+:
-
45% of clinical earnings per pay period
-
$28/hr for team meetings and mandatory trainings
1yr+:
-
50% of clinical earnings per pay period
-
$30/hr for team meetings and mandatory trainings
Bonuses offered at the end of every quarter after 6 months.​
